RESEARCH DIVISION
TRANSPORTATION, ENERGY & UTILITIES COMMITTEE
MINUTES
January 6, 2014
2:00 P.M
CITY COUNCIL CHAMBER
In attendance: Council Members Jim Love (Chair), Reggie Brown (Vice
Chair), Greg Anderson, Stephen Joost, Kimberly Daniels, John Crescimbeni, Matt
Schellenberg; Council Member Warren Jones; Paige Johnston, Office of General
Counsel; Kyle Billy, Council Auditor’s Office; Margo Klosterman, Mayor’s
Office; Juliette Williams, Legislative Services; John Jackson, Council Research
Division.
The Chair called the meeting
to order at 2:05 P.M.
The Chair announced that the
scheduled TPO presentation was being postponed for a cycle.
In lieu of the TPO
presentation, the Committee viewed a Florida
Times-Union video on the JTA trolley loop system in the Riverside-Avondale
area. This is a pilot program. The “night trolley” provides people that are
out on the town to have a few drinks with an alternative to driving; it also
addresses a parking problem. If
successful, the program could be offered in other areas.
