Meeting Convened: 8:30 a.m.

 

Chairman Clark called the meeting to order and reviewed the Auditor’s marked agenda which included 12 items marked for deferral, 13 items ready for action (2 for withdrawal) and 20 items for second reading and re-referral.

 

2014-149 (amending definition of part-time employment): the bill is being deferred pending Congressional action that affects employee benefits and part-time employment.

 

2014-560 (adopting the downtown business improvement district plan and appropriating funding to Downtown Development Authority projects) – the bill had to be re-noticed for public hearing after substantial modifications; it will be ready for action at the next meeting.

 

2014-548 and -613 (funding mechanisms for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid) – further investigation continues; one or the other bill will be ready for action next cycle, and the other will be withdrawn.

 

2014-750 (eligibility of Inspector General’s Office new employees to participate in the City’s defined contribution pension plan) – Council Member Gulliford asked for deferral for further work.

 

Chairman Clark announced that the Chief Judge has requested an appropriation of $43,011 to correct an error in the Clerk of the Court’s budget to cover training expenses. A funding source is being sought.
