Special Meeting Minutes

Attendance:  Council Members Scott Wilson (Chair), Lori Boyer, Katrina Brown, Danny Becton, Jim Love, and Joyce Morgan

Chairman Wilson called the special meeting to order at 4:07 p.m.  

 

2015-667 (Appeal of Denied Exception E-15-47)

Ms. Susan Grandin distributed the Office of General Council’s recommendation. Due to an administrative oversight, the 1000 feet requirement between dancing entertainment establishments was not met. Therefore, she has recommended that bill is remanded back to Planning Commission (PC). This will allow applicant time to correct the distance requirement through submission of a variance and exception which both will be heard at the same time with PC.

 

Ex Parte: Boyer, Love, Wilson and K. Brown

 

Public hearing opened. One speaker: Paul Harden (support) requested that applicant is provided 60 days due to holidays to file a completed zoning variance. Public hearing closed.

 

Actions

Motion/2nd move to remand bill to Planning Commission with special instructions from page 3 of handout with the exception that item #1 will be within 60 days of the effective date of remand; and staff will verify required distances and notify applicant of results and any necessary changes – Boyer/Love (6-0)

 

Assignment

Mr. Folks Huxford will submit request this week for City surveyor to verify distances. Information will be provided to Mr. Harden after completed.

 

There being no further business, the workshop was adjourned at 4:21 p.m.
