LUZ COMMITTEE AGENDA MEETING MINUTES

 

January 21, 2014

Council Member Holt called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m. Mr. Huxford reviewed the marked agenda which contains 8 items marked for deferral; 6 items ready for action; 2 public hearings to be opened and continued; 1 item marked for amend and re-referral; 1 item marked for staff reports; and 15 items marked for second reading and re-referral.  

 

2014-143 (rezoning Trout River Drive – Diving Academy): CM Holt stated committee will hear brief presentations from staff regarding building inspections and the fire marshal report. There will not be a public hearing or any action taken tonight. There was discussion regarding what department regulates the structure (permitting) being built on a barge at the site. Ms. Grandin stated living quarters cannot be constructed over the river; and will contact the appropriate authorities. Mr. Paul Harden reported the barge structure does not require a permit. He further stated the permit for the dormitory is in process to add an additional restroom. Mr. Mann and Harden expect to meet on issue within the next week.

 

2014-490 (rezoning Kernan Blvd, S of Atlantic Blvd): Mr. Harden reported submitting an amended written description which Mr. Lewis will distribute in committee meeting. In response to CM Boyer’s request, staff will provide a description of institutional uses at the meeting.

 

2014-725 (rezoning 5209 Shad Road): Mr. Huxford explained that this item was being deferred since it had not gone through Planning Commission. Item will be heard at the next PC meeting on January 22nd; and before LUZ in two weeks.

 

There being no further business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 3:18 p.m.
