RCDPHS added to the amendment to clarify that the benefit would be presented as “complimentary” rather than “free”.

 

Council Member John Crescimbeni provided background the legislation.  He explained that the current vendor had been unable to meet required payments to the City.  In lieu of full payments, Mr. Crescimbeni proposed that City employees be provided a discount  for use at the 9-hole golf course.  He explained that the discount price for use of the golf course would be reviewed and evaluated after a year.  Council Member Reggie Brown offered a friendly amendment to Mr. Crescimbeni’s whereby “complimentary” would replace “free” characterizing the discounted cards for City employees’ use of the facility.

At the agenda’s end, Council Member Sam Newby reported that efforts to raise funds for a playground for the children of Eureka Gardens is moving along successfully.

 

Council Member John Crescimbeni inquired about the status of the closing of a wood treatment facility that had been raised in Public Comment at the last Council Meeting.  Jessica Baker explained that a written report on the subject matter should be available in the coming week.
