The Chairman called the meeting to order at 9:02 A.M. and proceeded to review the marked agenda that the Council Auditor’s Office had prepared. There were four (4) items ready for action, seven (7) items being deferred, seven (7) items being seconded and re-referred, 2 (two) items being withdrawn, and one (1) item with a request for emergency passage.

 

On Item #1, ODR-MC 2014-665, Amend Chapt 220 (Vehicles for Hire), Ord Code,…, though marked for deferral, Council Member Matt Schellenberg reported that Council President Greg Anderson will be appointing a subcommittee to study this matter; the Council President is also awaiting what actions the  State of Florida might take in addressing the issue.

 

On Item #3, ORD-MC 2015-428, Amend Chpt 106 (Budget & Acctg Code…,  though marked for deferral, Ali Korman Shelton indicated that the Administration is working with Council Member Lori Boyer and expects to come up with an improved ordinance by November.

 

On Item #4, ORD 2015-445, Auth a  Services Agreemt, including a License Agreemt with the Justice Coalition, Inc. to Operate the Jax Victim Svcs at 403 W 10th St…., Ali Korman Shelton explained that after meetings with the Justice Coalition, it was decided to withdraw the proposed legislation.  The Justice Coalition did not fully understand that by this legislation, it would be taking over the Victim Services operation.

 

On Item #9, ORD-MC 2015-565, Amend Chapt 326 (Signs & Outside Display Structure), Ord Code…., though marked for action, Council Member Garrett Dennis requested that the item be deferred to enable the NICE Committee to craft some needed amendments.

 

There being no further business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 9:06 A.M.
