the meeting’s outset, Council President Anderson thanked the Council Members
for agreeing to serve on the panel. He
proceeded to read to the Committee its charge and wished them well for a
successful term.
In
Public Comments that the Chair indicated that he would entertain at the
beginning of Committee meetings, John Nooney discussed issues surrounding the
future of Palm’s Fish Camp, referencing proposed Ordinance 2015-230.
Tera
Meeks, Chief of Natural and Marine Resources, explained that the proposed
Ordinance 2015-230 had nothing to do with Palm’s Fish Camp. The ordinance pertains to renewing a
Submerged Lands Fee Waived Lease to facilitate the operation of a 6-slip docking
facility.
The
Chair invited Charles
Moreland, Director of Community Affairs, to explain what the objectives and
initiatives he foresees for his office.
The
Chair invited Chief
Derrick Lewis of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office to explain his
department’s initiatives, particularly with regard to the blight initiatives.
There
