Summary
R: Amend/Approve F: Amend/Approve DEFER Before the item was deferred, there was a lengthy
discussion. Council Member John
Crescimbeni was troubled by the bill and indicated that he would not be
voting to recommend approval. He was
particularly perplexed as to why funds were taken from the Fire & Rescue
Department’s savings and allotted to the Court to restore funds that had been
deleted from the Court’s budget during last summer’s budget
deliberations. Mr. Crescimbeni noted
that at those deliberations, no funding was found to provide Fire &
Rescue vehicles that the department had requested. He further noted that the proposed
legislation would not only restore funds to the Court, but would add
additional funding, as well. Council Member E. Denise Lee suggested that the item be
deferred until a different funding source could be found for the Court other than
Fire & Rescue. |

derived from the sale of the surplused vehicle should be put into the General
Fund. Council Member Warren Jones
indicated that at a time of financial restraints, the City was not in a position
