Summary Wayne Young of the JEA reiterated comments made by the JEA
at last week’s City Council meeting opposing this ordinance, stating that
this ordinance would prevent the JEA, a multi-county service provider, from
hiring employees who are customers but happen to live in adjacent counties.
Michael Stewart of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority stated that the JAA
serves the entire Northeast Florida/Southeast Georgia region and likes to
have the freedom to hire regionally, particularly with regard to recruiting
retired military veterans with valuable aviation skills who may not reside in
Jacksonville. DEFER |
