explained that additional environmental assessment and environmental testing
were required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Attorney Kristina Nelson remarked on the
tax credits issue. A question had been
raised as to whether the City could sell any tax credits that it received Council Vice President John Crescimbeni characterized the
process of periodically assessing the Shipyards for contaminants and other
environmental concerns as a “band aid “ approach, likening it to patching up
a leaking roof instead of installing a new roof. Council Member Greg Anderson had a number
of concerns; he wants to meet with Eric Fuller and Dwayne Kent to discuss
this matter further. |
