Council Member Tommy Hazouri had asked for an explanation on the differences between two trust funds related to mitigation for tree protection.  Council Member John Crescimbeni provided background information on an ordinance enacted in 1988 creating a tree protection mitigation trust fund and a 2000 charter amendment initiated by Attorney Bill Brinton and John Crescimbeni that created a separate trust fund for tree mitigation.  Council Member Hazouri indicated that for accounting purposes, he was inclined to support efforts to combine the two separate trust funds.  Council Member Crescimbeni suggested the likelihood of public pushback if the two were, in fact, combined.
