In attendance: Council Members Anna Lopez Brosche (Chair), Aaron Bowman, Bill Gulliford, Matt Schellenberg

Meeting Convened: 8:30 a.m.

 

Chairwoman Brosche called the meeting to order and asked the attendees to introduce themselves. Ms. Brosche reviewed the Auditor’s marked agenda which included 3 items marked for deferral, 21 items ready for action (2 requested as emergencies) and 8 items for second reading and re-referral.

 

2017-300 (Amending Ordinance Code Chapter 57 - Taxation, Revenue & Utilization of Expenditures Commission - to Decrease Membership from 18 to 11 and Clarify Purposes & Powers): Council Member Schellenberg requested an explanation of the discussion and deferral in the Rules Committee yesterday.

 

2017-304 (Appropriating $49,620 from Special Law Enforcement Trust Fund to provide One City, One Jacksonville Criminal Justice & Safe Neighborhoods Small Grants): Council Member Schellenberg requested background information on Families of Slain Children and its grant history with the City. Chairwoman Brosche said that 2017-345 (Authorizing Public Service Grant Eligibility to Families of Slain Children of Jacksonville, Florida, Inc.) will be taken up prior to 2017-304, which will provide that information.

 

2017-329 (Resolution of City Support for Application by Kingdom Worldwide Humanitarian Aid Community Development Corp. to Participate in the Florida Community Contribution Tax Credit Program): Council Member Schellenberg requested background information on the organization and its previous work in Jacksonville and other cities.
