Meeting Convened: 8:31 a.m.

 

Chairwoman Brosche called the meeting to order and asked the attendees to introduce themselves. Ms. Brosche reviewed the Auditor’s marked agenda which included 5 items marked for deferral, 17 items ready for action (1 as a substitute) and 16 items for second reading and re-referral.

 

At the beginning of the meeting the committee will receive an update on the Loblolly Wetlands Mitigation Bank settlement talks, followed by remarks by Steve Woodard, Chief of Emergency Preparedness, regarding a letter received by the City from the St. Johns County Commission asking the Governor and Florida Legislature to appropriate funds in the upcoming state budget to clean Hurricane Matthew storm debris from the St. Johns River. Council Auditor Kyle Billy will also give a report on the three audits released by his office since the last committee meeting.

 

Council Member Schellenberg asked Tom Goldsbury, Chief of Building Inspections, to distribute to the committee the building inspector salary information he had requested at the TEU Committee meeting. Council Member Gulliford provided a brief overview of the reason for his introduction of 2017-279 (creating separate Hanna Park and Huguenot Park special revenue funds) since he will not be at the committee meeting; he will be attending a simultaneous meeting elsewhere in City Hall regarding the state’s opioid overdose epidemic.
