Meeting
Convened: 4:54 p.m.
Chairman Becton called the meeting
to order. Ms. Susan Grandin explained that draft coincides with the handout
presented at the January 18, 2017 meeting. The committee reviewed and consented
to several proposed amendments to the Zoning Code. Ms. Grandin provided a
thorough review of the draft legislation which includes reference pages to the
January 18th handout. It should be noted that the proposed changes
are non-controversial issues. The purpose is to correct typographical errors,
provide consistency with Florida Statutes
and other portions of the Ordinance Code,
and provide clarification regarding certain uses that are routinely
determined administratively as permitted or permissible.
Some of the changes include:
- Administrative

- Indoor
gun ranges
- Advisory
recommendation
- Mailed
notices and posting of signs
- Schedule
of fees
- Certificate
of Use
- Supplemental
criteria and Standards for Secondary Zoning Districts
- Fitness
centers
- Performance
standards
Chairman Becton requested committee
members to review document in detail prior to next meeting. In response to Council Members Gaffney and
Morgan’s previous concerns, Chairman Becton stated minor modifications will be
upcoming topic after review of pending legislation. CM Carter commented that he
is scheduling a notice meeting about internet cafes.
There being no further business, the
meeting was adjourned.
