Convened: 4:37 p.m.
Chairman Becton called the meeting
to order. He stated committee members should have received the calendar of the
workshop topics in December. Based on the depth of details associated with a
topic determined the number of meetings assigned to cover the entire topic.
Mr. Folks Huxford distributed a
handout for discussion on application processes. He provided an in-depth review
of each application process that included zoning criteria, staff report
details, and verification of compliance process. The types of applications
reviewed were:
- Sign
Waivers
- Waivers
of Road Frontage
- Waivers
of Liquor Distance
- Administrative
Deviations
- Variances
- Exceptions
- Minor
Modifications
- Administrative
Modifications
Additionally, Mr. Huxford reviewed
information regarding which applications are heard before LUZ, Planning
Commission or both; similarities and differences associated to the various
application types; and public access to information associated to applications.
Currently, Conventional Zonings,
Land Use Amendments, PUDs, Minor Modification and Administrative Modifications
are the only applications are accessible to apply for online. The department is
working on improving the process. A concern of the committee involved the
timeliness of uploading hard copy applications for public accessibility.
