Location: City Council Chamber, 1^st floor, City Hall – St. James Building, 117 West Duval Street

In attendance: Council Members Garrett Dennis (Chair), Danny Becton, John Crescimbeni, Jim Love

Also: Peggy Sidman - Office of General Counsel; Heather Reber - Council Auditor’s Office; Allison Korman Shelton – Mayor’s Office; Colleen Hampsey - Council Research Division; Crystal Shemwell and Staci Lopez – Legislative Services;  see attached sign-in sheet for additional attendees.

Meeting Convened: 12:32 p.m.

Chairman Dennis called the meeting to order and asked the attendees to introduce themselves. The marked agenda included 6 items marked for deferral, 15 items ready for action (2 requested as emergencies) and 3 items for second reading and re-referral.

Mr. Dennis announced that the topic for the special meeting would be boards and commission review for the Ethics Commission and the Jacksonville Historic Preservation Society. Also, Fire Chief Wilson will give a presentation on departmental hiring practices.
