Summary CM
Becton proposed an amendment to the bill, allowing for registered lobbyists
to give a business address in lieu of a residential address on the speaker’s
card, and to provide for dissemination of the speaker’s card info to council
members. There was some discussion regarding the balance between address and
name disclosure during public hearings and participation and individual
privacy/safety. CM Crescimbeni presented a new version of the speaker cards
used during Council meetings, which includes a signature line, a line to
designate representation, and a ‘choose one’ option to distinguish among
speakers for public hearings, public participation and public comments. AMEND/APPROVE 7-0 Amendment: 1. To allow registered lobbyists
to give a business address in lieu of a residential address on the speaker’s
card, and to provide for dissemination of the speaker’s card info to council
members. |
