Council Member Lori Boyer explained the concerns that she had previously raised regarding funding for the road and bridge projects in the Plan.  She met with Alan Mosely to discuss the issues. The Council Member further explained that she was offering a substitute to the resolution that added language that stipulated that the City supports the transit projects identified in the Plan provided that funds for the projects are not sought in competition with the City or other local government agencies or authorities for state and federal funding.

At the close of the agenda items, Council Members Lori Boyer and Tommy Hazouri suggested that the Committee hear from the Public Works Department and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department’s Emergency Preparedness Division, on how the City would fare in the event of the type of Hurricane and flooding that Houston recently experienced.  The Chair, Council Member Ferraro explained that plans were already underway to have presentations on the concerns that have been raised.
