COMMITTEE AGENDA MEETING MINUTES
August 14, 2017

Attendance: Council Members Al Ferraro (Chair), Lori Boyer, Aaron Bowman, Lori Boyer; Assistant General Counsel Paige Johnston; Phillip Peterson, Council Auditor’s Office; Jordan Elsbury, Administration; Adri Maguire Segui, Legislative Assistant; John J. Jackson, Council Research Division.
The Chair, Council Member Al Ferraro, called the agenda meeting to order at 1:31 P.M.
The Chair requested that Phillip Peterson review the marked agenda that the Council Auditor’s Office had prepared. Mr. Peterson announced that there were six (6) items ready for action, two (2) items being deferred, and four (4) items being seconded and re-referred.
Though Item #2, ORD 2017-14 Closing & Abandoning &/or Disclaiming 3 All Utilities Easemts within RE# 080840-0010 previously rsvd by Ords 90-1210-541 (LaRue St) & 93-944-384 (Belmont Ave & Lisbon St), at Req of Southern Baptist Hospital of Florida, Inc., Subject to Reservation unto JEA OF AN Easemt Over the closed Easemts for Ingress & Egress…, was marked Deferred on the CAO marked agenda, Council Member Lori Boyer indicated that she was now comfortable in moving this item; earlier in the day, she had met with the hospital’s staff and attorney and had a better understanding of what the hospital’s long-term plans are for the area.
On Item #6, ORD 2017-517, Council Member Lori Boyer indicated that in all likelihood, she will probably be offering amendments to this legislation at Tuesday’s Finance Committee meeting.
On Item #8, RESO 2017-525, Supporting the Regional Multimodal Transportation Plan as Prepared by the Northeast Florida Regional Transportation Commission, Council Member Lori Boyer said that she hoped someone would be at the Committee meeting to explain this measure.
Assistant General Counsel Paige Johnston indicated that Laurie Santana, Chief of Transportation Planning, Planning & Development Department, would probably be at the Committee meeting.
The Chair announced that there would be an update on damage recovery from Hurricane Matthew by City officials before agenda items were considered.
There being no further business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 1:34 P.M.
