Meeting Convened:
9:07 a.m.
Chairman Anderson called the meeting to order and reviewed
the Auditor’s marked agenda which included 9 items marked for deferral, 26
items ready for action and 15 items for second reading and re-referral.
2018-469 – Sheriff Williams requests an amendment to
increase the funding allocation to the Women’s Center by $25,000.
2018-572 will be taken up first on the agenda and will be
moved for withdrawal
2018-593 Gulliford requested deferral since he’s out of town
and wishes to be present for the debate; Council Member Dennis will be present
to discuss the bill.
Council Auditor Kyle Billy will make a presentation on Audit
#815 – Defined Contribution and Other Deferred Compensation Plans Audit
Peggy Sidman will have a report on discussion at a previous
Finance meeting regarding peer-to-peer vacation rentals (e.g. Airbnb, VRBO).
The committee will discuss moving the Finance meeting on
November 8th from Election Day to an alternate date.
Council Member Boyer said that she will have amendments to
offer on 2018-505 and 2018-555 (2 amendments). Deputy General Counsel Peggy Sidman
asked the committee to clearly state whether they want the additional
amendments rolled into a comprehensive Finance amendment or kept separate.
Chairman Anderson said that Legislative Services will confirm at the time of
the vote whether the amendments are rolled together or separate.
