Bill
Summary TEU: Deferred at the
request of the Chair There was a lengthy discussion about this bill, particularly
about the support of the community for the road name change and the 911
review process. It was suggested that a more appropriate naming may be for
the unnamed road adjacent to the Farmer’s Market on Beaver Street. Chairman
Hazouri deferred the bill to allow for more time to select the best road
renaming location, assess the 911 review process for this location and
consult with the Frisch family and community stakeholders. |

Bill Summary Deferred at the
request of the Chair Michael Corrigan, the former Duval Tax Collector, spoke
about this bill. Mr. Corrigan said that while he was in office, the policy
was to not create a surplus of pre-printed stationary and envelopes but to
only print as needed. CM Crescimbeni noted that that policy may not be
followed by future Tax Collectors, making this bill necessary. CM Dennis
noted that the use of letterhead by Tax Collectors who are running for
reelection could be interpreted as campaigning with tax payer monies. CM
Gulliford added that if this bill passes, it should be considered for all
constitutional officers. |

Pittman, Anderson and Hazouri asked to be added as co-sponsors.
Before adjourning the meeting, CM Hazouri discussed the
process for submitting suggested changes to Council Rules. Over the next few
weeks, any interested council members should review the rules and if anyone
would like to discuss rule changes should present those suggestions to the
Rules Committee in future meetings. At the next Rules Committee meeting, Peggy
Sidman, Office of General Counsel, will review portions of the Council Rules
for clarity.
