2. 11/28/2017 CO PH Read 2nd & Rereferred; R      CM Schellenberg

Bill Summary

Council Member Schellenberg explained the rationale for the bill – efficiency, simplicity and a reduction in the time and expense of processing amendments to add names. Several members of the committee, while applauding the effort to find efficiency and reduce cost, did not support automatically putting council members’ names on bills they may not support. Mr. Schellenberg suggested an amendment to provide that the addition of all council members’ names would be done if an “honoring and commending” resolution received a unanimous recommendation of approval by the Rules Committee. After further discussion Mr. Schellenberg recommended that the bill be withdrawn.
