  legislation; he characterized the work as a collaborative effort. He remarked on restricted streets and trucks’ use of the
  streets. Council member Scott Wilson indicated that he will be
  scheduling a community meeting to discuss the issues addressed in this
  ordinance.  He is anxious to hear how
  people feel about the issues raised. Assistant General Counsel Cherry Pollock explained that
  she had met with individual Council Members to explain the ordinance and to

  included his recent correspondence with the Chief of the Jacksonville Fire
  & Rescue Department who is supportive of the legislation and explained
  how fire apparatus has difficulty navigating some streets.  He noted that the proposed legislation had
  been reviewed and discussed by numerous committee and agencies. Mr. Becton, Assistant General Counsel Susan Grandin,
  Laurie Santana, Chief of Transportation Planning, Planning & Development
  Department, Curtis Hart, representing the Northeast Florida Builders
  Association, all fielded numerous questions from the Committee panel.  |
