READ 2ND AND REREFER
At the beginning of the Committee meeting, Eric
Shimmer, Senior Design Project Manager, Florida Department of Transportation
(FDOT), provided the Committee with an update on repair work underway on the Wonderwood Expressway.
Mr. Shimmer explained that while the Expressway
was constructed by the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), FDOT took
over the road maintenance responsibilities.
Currently, there are projects underway or in the
planning phases that are focused on damaged drainage pipes and roadway surface
issues. Corroded corrugated pipe damage
is requiring extensive repair work.
There are several phases in the work.
FDOT is working on the worst drainage pipe damage first.
Mr. Shimmer fielded a number of questions.
There being no further business, the Committee
meeting was adjourned at 3:05 P.M.
