Topic: Jacksonville City Council Installation
Ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2018, 6:00 pm. The ceremony is held to install the Honorable Scott Wilson, 2019-2020
Council President and the Honorable Tommy Hazouri as 2019-2020 Vice President;
and 2019-2023 City Council Members Elect.
In accordance with Council Rules the positions will become effective
July 1, 2019. Additionally, The
Honorable Jim Overton, Tax Collector and
The Honorable Jerry Holland, Property Appraiser were installed as 2019-2023
Constitutional Officers for the City of Jacksonville/Duval County. (Invited attendees will include the
Constructional officers, Judges, Duval Delegation, Congressional
Representatives, and Members of the appointed Boards and Commissions of the
City of Jacksonville, Members of the Duval County School Board as well as the
public at large.)

4:00 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. Council members and program guests will convene in the Davis Gallery. Program guests will be escorted to their seats. (Council Members are lined up by District Order- except President, President – Designate and Vice President – Designate. – Constitutional Officers – Alpha order)
5:15 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Jacoby Symphony Doors Open – mix of live and recorded music will play for 35 minutes.
5:30 p.m. Morton Perry begins playing while guests arrive and are seated in Jacoby Symphony Hall
5:30 p.m. All invited guests will move to their assigned areas open seating within Symphony Hall.
5:30 p.m. Family members of President, Vice President, Council Members and Constitutional Officers will take their assigned seats in the Symphony Hall.

Frank: Good evening. Welcome to the 2019- 2020 Installation Ceremony of the Jacksonville City Council Officers and Members honoring Scott A. Wilson, President Designate and Tommy Hazouri, Vice President Designate. This evening we also have the honor of welcoming you to the Investiture of our Constitutional Officers Jerry Holland, Property Appraiser and Jim Overton, Tax Collector representing Jacksonville/Duval County Consolidated Government.
Frank: Whether you are a constituent, a neighbor, a friend or a family member of one of our city council members, I welcome you and on behalf of your hosts, we thank you for your attendance.
All of our elected officials who will appear before you tonight are here because of you. You were generous enough to give them an opportunity to serve, and they welcome the opportunity to serve you with fairness, honesty and integrity.
We are blessed in Jacksonville to have such dedicated and talented public servants and community stakeholders. These are the people who are committed to Jacksonville’s economic growth, safety and quality of life. They take time away from their families and businesses in order to make sure that our city works in an efficient and effective manner.
This evening upon your entering the Jacoby Symphony Hall, I am sure you recognized several familiar faces. I would like to take the time to say thank you to several groups of our present and former elected officials who are in attendance or who called to wish us well on this historic day.
We recognize the following elected officials:
Congressional Representatives; Florida State Representatives – Present and Former, Constitutional Officers – Present and Former; City of Jacksonville Council Members – Present and Former;
We would also like to recognize our former Mayors of the City of Jacksonville, including our neighboring Mayors from Neptune, Atlantic and Baldwin, former City Council Presidents, Council Members; Judges, Constitutional Officers, and other current and former elected officials from the Duval County School Board.
