Bill Summary: This bill provides for development of the Nocatee Development of Regional Impact (DRI) in accordance with its development order, which is to take effect upon transmittal to the Dept. of Community Affairs, the Northeast Florida Regional Planning Council, and the developer. The Director of the Planning and Development Dept., or designee, is made the local official responsible for monitoring development compliance. Ordinance Code provisions which would require the mailing of notices and posting of signs are made inapplicable.
Background Information: The proposed Nocatee DRI consists of a mixed use development on approximately 13,323 acres located in northeastern St. Johns County and southeastern Duval County (approximately 1,991 acres are within the City of Jacksonville). Implementation of the master plan for Nocatee will create a town center and various district residential neighborhoods or villages buffered from one another by wetlands and uplands. The property is owned by SONOC Company, LLC, and The PARC Group, Inc., is shown as being the developer.
