Bill Summary: This bill designates The Cape Subdivision as a Golf Cart Community pursuant to Florida Statutes. The Public Works Dept. is required to post appropriate signage to indicate that golf cart operation is permitted on certain specified rights-of-way. Signage is to include at least 1 sign at the subdivision entrance and other signage as deemed necessary by the Public Works Dept. The Cape Community Association is to reimburse the City for the cost and installation of such signage.

Background Information: Florida Statutes permits the operation of golf carts upon rights-of-way, subject to requirements, and The Cape Community Association has requested Golf Cart Community designation. The Sheriff’s Office and the Traffic Engineering Division have reviewed the request and have not expressed objections. The rights-of-way being designated for use by golf carts are Cape Drive North, Cape Drive South, Cape Drive East, Landmark Circle North, Landmark Circle South, Landmark Court, Cape Forest Trail, Capstan Drive, Compass Drive, Nina Way, Cape View Drive, Reef Drive South, Reef Drive West, Reef Court, and Mainsail Circle North.
