Bill Summary: This bill confirms the Mayor’s appointment of Elizabeth “Lyssa” K. Ball as a member of the Environmental Protection Board, replacing Warren Anderson as a discreet citizen representative, for an unexpired term ending September 30, 2008.

 

Background Information: Chapter 73, Ordinance Code, provides that five of the members of the Environmental Protection Board are to be appointed by the Mayor in various categories including a discreet citizen representing the general public.  Ms. Ball received a bachelor’s degree in American studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was an AMIO with the City of Jacksonville, Parks and Recreation Department from Oct. 2003 to Apr. 2005.  Ms. Ball resides in the Miramer area within Council District #5.
