Bill Summary: The bill deletes the requirement for the Mayor and Council President to exchange budget objectives and for the City Council to develop and approve five budget planning objectives, called City objectives, by the first meeting of the Council in January.

 

Background Information: Conceptually, developing long range plans and short term goals has merit, but coupling this approach exclusively to the process used in budgetary approval does not accomplish what the original drafters envisioned.
