Bill Summary: The bill appropriates a
$1,000 grant from Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to the Community Services Department to
purchase Safe Response Kits for the Critical Incident Stress Management Team.
Background Information: The Critical Incident
Stress Management Team is a function of the City’s Victim Services
Division. The team responds to major
traumatic events in the community (natural disasters, serious traffic
accidents, shootings, etc.) to provide immediate grief counseling, victim
assistance, and other on-the-scene assistance to help incident victims,
witnesses, co-workers and neighbors to deal with the immediate impact of
traumatic situations. The grant will
provide for the purchase of 15-20 kits.
