Bill Summary: The bill appropriates $15,602, received from MedTec Ambulance Corp, to purchase five ice machines and five riding lawn mowers for use at fire stations.

 

Background Information: MedTec Ambulance Corporation was delayed in delivery of Rescue vehicles to the City and was charged interest for each day of non-delivery past the bid delivery date.  The sum above represents payment of this penalty to the Fire Department.  Ice machines are necessary in Fire Service operations to keep staff hydrated at extended stay fires and reduce job injuries due to overheating.  Lawn mowers are needed to maintain fire station lawns.
