Bill Summary: This bill confirms the Mayor’s appointment of David A. Lauer as the Director of Information Technology/Chief Information Officer, effective December 12, 2006.

 

Background Information: Ordinance 2006-1194-E, signed by the Mayor on December 14, 2006, established the Information Technology Department.  The requirements for this position are a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and five or more years of progressively responsible related experience in information technology, systems, strategic planning and project management or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

 

Mr. Lauer received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Rutgers University and has been employed with the City since his appointment as Deputy Director/Chief Information Officer of Administration and Finance in September 2003.  Prior to his employment with the City, he was with Enterprise Integration in progressively responsible technology related positions from 1999 to 2003.  Mr. Lauer resides in St. Johns County.
