Bill Summary: This bill appoints Daniel W. Haskell to the Environmental Protection Board, replacing Sylvester Robinson as an affected industry representative, for an unexpired term ending September 30, 2009.

 

Background Information: Chapter 73, Ordinance Code, provides that four of the members of the Environmental Protection Board are to be appointed by the Council in various categories including an affected industry representative.  Mr. Haskell received a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration from the University of North Florida and is the President/Chief Operating Officer of Associated Builders and Contractors.  He retired from the City, with 30 years of service, in 1999.  During his employ with the City, he was appointed as Chief Purchasing Officer (1982-1985), Deputy Director/Chief Purchasing Officer (1985-1991), Procurement and Supply Chief (1991-1995) and Director of Regulatory and Environmental Services (1995-1999).  Mr. Haskell resides in the Craven area within Council District #5.
