Bill Summary: This ordinance approves the
City of Jacksonville,
through the Real Estate Division, exercising the Division’s Option to Purchase
to acquire Parcel 100-4C for the Girvin Road Reconstruction Project. The
executed Option is for the appraised amount of $210,000. The parcel is required and is needed to
construct a retention pond for the Girvin Road Reconstruction Project. The project site, Girvin Road from Atlantic to Mt. Pleasant,
is located in Council District 3. This
is a Better Jacksonville Plan project.
Background Information: The acquisition of the
parcel, Real Estate Number 162131-0050, on Girvin Road, is being acquired in
accordance with the terms of the City’s Real Estate Division Option to Purchase
executed by Marlon D. Rears and Gearl T. Rears, Stanley M. Baughman and Deborah
M. Baughman (sellers). The Closing shall take place within sixty (60) days of
the effective date of approval of this Option to Purchase by the City Council.
The City shall pay the cost of title insurance, survey, appraisal,
environmental reviews and recording fees.
The seller agrees to pay and discharge all due and delinquent ad valorem
taxes.
