Bill Summary: The bill appropriates $43,320 from the Public Works Department’s Public Buildings – Capital Projects account to fund the North Riverside Community Development Corporation’s work to secure and make repairs to the North Riverside Community Center.  The bill authorizes the execution of an agreement between the City and the North Riverside CDC for receipt of the funds and describes the scope of work to be provided.

 

Background Information: The appropriation will pay for the removal of 20 trees from the property that are damaged, dying, or otherwise pose a threat to the building or its immediate neighbors; for the installation of fencing around the perimeter of the lot; and for the reimbursement of the cost of initial repairs undertaken by the CDC to make the building inhabitable by a caretaker (plumbing and electrical repairs, installation of doors, shower, etc.).
