Bill Summary: This ordinance amends Section 387.103 (Manatee Protection Zones), Ordinance Code, to conform language to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Rule 68C-22.027.

Background Information: In conforming language in the Ordinance Code relating to manatee protection with the language of the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission regulations on manatee protection, Duval County is in compliance with the State and federal agencies that are mandated to enforce the manatee protection zones on the County’s waterways. Having the County, State and federal language on manatee protection uniform enables agencies to more effectively enforce the rules governing manatee protection on the County’s waterways (the St. Johns River and its tributaries).
