Type of Action: Establishing a Community Development District

 

Bill Summary: The bill establishes the Timucuan South Community Development District and defines the boundaries of the district.  The bill also designates the initial members of the governing board to be Mitchell R. Montgomery, Maurice Rudolph, Marcus Meide, Wayne Pope, and Elaine Romans.  Further, the City grants this district the authority to use eminent domain powers outside of the district in regards to water, sewer, and district roads and water management.  Lastly, Section 92.22 is amended to add Timucuan South Community Development District to the list of community development districts.

 

Background Information: This proposed District 11 Community Development District will comprise 499.58 acres in size.  Current plans call for the construction of approximately 904 single family units and 360 multifamily units plus schools and parks over a period of 12 years.  The new district is situated north of the Jacksonville International Airport, east of Lem Turner Road, and south of Lannie Road.
