Type of Action: Establishing a Community Development District
Bill Summary: The bill establishes the Avenues Walk Community Development District and defines the boundaries of the district. The bill also designates the initial members of the governing board to be William Sulzabacher, Johnny Dudley, Diane Bradley, Bryan Jones, and Nancy M. Pedrick. Further, the City grants this district the authority to use eminent domain powers outside of the district in regards to water, sewer, and district roads and water management. Lastly, Section 92.22 is amended to add Avenues Walk Community Development District to the list of community development districts.
Background Information: The proposed District 5 development district will comprise approximately 131 acres bounded on the west by I-95, on the northeast by Phillips Highway, and on the south by I-295 and 9-A. Entrance will be off Phillips. Current plans are to construct around 1,050 residential units, 350,000 square feet of retail space, 400 hotel rooms, and 50,000 square feet of office space.
