Bill Summary: This ordinance appropriates
$3,400,000 ($3,325,800 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and
$75,000 from the Special Law Enforcement Trust Fund) for the construction of a
marine waterborne operation facility, as initiated by B.T. 07-089. The funds will carry over to Fiscal Year
2007-2008. The ordinance amends the
2006-2011 Five-Year Capital Improvement Program, approved by Ordinance
2006-789-E, to authorize a Priority 1 status for the “JSO Marine Dock Facility”
project.
Background Information: This facility will provide
the JSO Marine Unit with an administrative building, slips to moor the unit’s
watercraft and the ability to monitor and respond to waterways activity. Originally, the facility was to be located at
