Bill Summary: This ordinance appropriates
$453,300 from the Spring
Park and Barnes Road
projects in the Better Jacksonville Plan to the Hendricks Avenue project to provide
funding for change orders and close out the construction project, as initiated
by B. T. 07-096. The bill provides that
unspent funds shall revert to the funding source of origin. The bill amends the 2006-2011 Five-Year
Capital Improvement Program, approved by Ordinance 2006-789-E, to change the
Hendricks Avenue project description because of an expansion in the scope of
the Hendricks Avenue project to include additional construction and
reconstruction.
Background Information: The Spring Park
(Emerson to University) and Barnes Road Projects are located in Council
District 4. The Hendricks Avenue Project
is located in Council District 5. The money transferred by this legislation was
previously appropriated to projects in the Better Jacksonville Plan. According
to the administration, failure to approve the transfer leaves the City exposed
to monetary claims by the contractor.
