Bill Summary: The bill appropriates a total of $8,790,397.85, of which $3,050,940 is from the Fair Share Specific Project (UNF Campus) fund and $5,739,457.85 from Sector 3-4 Fair Share fund, to pay costs of widening the existing First Coast Technology Parkway to a 6-lane divided section and then reconfiguring portions of same Parkway in order that it can replace the portion of Kernan Boulevard abutting First Coast Technology Park, the intent being to realigning existing Kernan Boulevard.  The bill further amends the City's 5-Year Capital Improvement Program and provides for a fund carryover into 2007-08.

 

Background Information: The Kernan road, McCormick to JTB, project is estimated to cost a little less than $67.3 million, of which around $58.5 million is currently allocated for this need.  The amount appropriated in this bill will thus allocate all estimated money needed for the section project.  2006-252 requires that  all Fair Share money accruing to this sector account are to be appropriated to the construction of a 6-lane First Coast Technology Parkway. This provision thus supports UNF Campus Master Plan.
