Bill Summary: This bill confirms the Mayor’s appointment of Chad Poppell as the Chief of Organizational Support within the Human Resources Department, effective February 19, 2007.

 

Background Information: Ordinance 2006-1194-E, enacted December 12, 2006, established the Organizational Support Division.  The requirements for this position are a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, proven administrative ability, and at least five years of experience in the field of human resource management.

 

Mr. Poppell received a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Valdosta State University and holds certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).  He has been employed with the City of Jacksonville, within the Human Resources Division, since 1999 working his way up from HR Analyst to Manager of Personnel Services, the position he has held since October 2006.  Mr. Poppell resides in St. Johns County.
