Bill Summary: This resolution expresses the City Council’s support for an application to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission for a grant to study boating patters in Duval County.  Emergency Action is requested.

 

Background Information: The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission has funds available to underwrite some or all of the costs of studying boating traffic patterns.  A study of local boating traffic patterns will b used to analyze the criteria under the manatee protection plan used to site marinas.  The Parks, Recreation, Entertainment & Conservation Department has applied for a grant from the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission to help pay for the boating traffic study.  The City of Jacksonville will contribute to a boating traffic study conducted under the auspices of the Sea Grant Program at the University of Florida.
