Bill Summary:  This bill appropriates $33,206 from the Corporation for National and Community Service to provide funding for the Florida Alzheimer’s Volunteer Opportunity Respite Senior Companion Program Center-based Group Day Respite Project of the Independent Living Program.  Provision is made for the carryover of appropriated funds to the 2007-2008 fiscal year.

 

Background Information:  This continuation grant requires no City cash match and is for the period July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008.  It is expected to provide 7,432 hours of center-based respite for caregivers, companionship services for 18 to 25 eligible frail elderly citizens, and stipends to 10 to 12 low-income seniors.
