Bill Summary:  This bill appropriates $659,213 from the Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection to provide funding to the Environmental Quality Division of the Environmental Resource Management Dept. to perform air pollution permitting and compliance-related activities for major sources of air pollution within Duval County.  Positions are reauthorized.  Additionally, the Mayor, or designee, and Corporation Secretary are authorized to execute necessary documents and take further action to effectuate the purposes of this ordinance.

 

Background Information:  The grant is for the period July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008.  Information from the Environmental Resource Management Dept. states that the program is funded by the Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection with no General Fund contribution.  Reauthorization is given for 1 Environmental Engineering Manager position, 3 Environmental Engineer/Scientist positions, and 4 Environmental Specialist positions.
