Bill Summary: This ordinance authorizes the Mayor and Corporation Secretary to execute an Agreement for Exchange of Real Property between the City of Jacksonville and W. A. Miner, and to execute all deeds and closing documents to effectuate the exchange of real property, Parcel 100, R. E. #055770-0000, owned by W. A. Miner and located on Osceola Street between Forest Street and McCoy Creek Boulevard, in Council District 9, and Parcel 900-100, R.E. # 055848-0000, owned by the City and located on Forest Street within the triangle formed by Osceola Street, Forest Street and McCoy Creek Boulevard, in Council District 9, to allow for the relocation of Fire Station 5.

Background Information: The City acquired land to build a new Fire Station 5.  The current site does not provide the needed ingress/egress traffic pattern for the emergency Fire & Rescue vehicles.  The acquisition of land owned by W. A. Miner, land that abuts the property for the new fire station site, will fulfill the needs of the City.  In turn, W. A. Miner will acquire nearby City-owned land, in exchange.
