Bill Summary: This bill appropriates $100,000 from a Council District 7 Capital Projects BJP account for The Bridge of Northeast Florida, Inc. Funds not utilized by September 30, 2007, shall revert to the account of origin. The provisions of Section 106.315, Ordinance Code, requiring that bonds funds be used on public property, and any other ordinance to such effect, are waived. Compliance is required with various sections of the Ordinance Code. Authorization is given for the Mayor, or designee, and Corporation Secretary to execute an agreement with The Bridge of Northeast Florida. It is requested that the Mayor appoint the Community Services Dept. to oversee expenditure of funds.

Background Information: The funds are to be used to provide an additional 20-25 person passenger mini-bus ($63,254), and for equipment and fixtures ($36,746) for a Media Arts Center in the Teen Epicenter that will be located at Beulah Beal Young Parents Center. This is found to be a valid municipal purpose for which funds should be expended under the bonds.
