Bill Summary: The bill appropriates $140,000 from the Better Jacksonville Plan District 7 Discretionary Fund to the Planning and Development Department Town Center Initiatives capital account to fund a portion of the Phase III construction costs for the Arlington Road Town Center Project.  The bill amends the 2006-11 Capital Improvement Program to increase the Planning District 2 Town Centers project amount from $2,000,000 to $2,140,000, and provides that the appropriation shall carry over to FY07-08.

 

Background Information: The Arlington Road Town Center is one of 4 town center projects in Planning District 2, and stretched from University Boulevard to Rogero Road in the Old Arlington area.  The visioning and design phases of the project have been completed, but escalating costs have exceeded the budget available for phase III construction.  This bill appropriates Council District 7 bond money to help complete the project construction.
